SMS Channel¶
Send and receive SMS messages from your NotifyBulk store.
Requirements¶
- An SMS phone number assigned to your store by your administrator
- Sufficient SMS credits in your account balance
How it works¶
Outbound: NotifyBulk → SMS Gateway → Recipient's phone
Inbound: Recipient replies → NotifyBulk Inbox
Inbound replies are forwarded to your inbox automatically.
Sending SMS¶
One-to-one (Inbox)¶
Go to Inbox → New Conversation, select SMS, enter the recipient's phone number with country code (e.g. +15551234567), and type your message.
Bulk (Campaign)¶
Go to Marketing → SMS Campaigns → New Campaign. See SMS Campaigns.
SMS credits¶
Each segment of an SMS message consumes one credit:
- Standard SMS: up to 160 characters = 1 segment
- Long SMS: 161–306 characters = 2 segments
- Unicode (emoji, special characters): up to 70 characters = 1 segment
Check your balance in Settings → Billing.
Inbound SMS¶
Replies from customers arrive automatically in Inbox. The platform matches the incoming number to an existing conversation or creates a new one.
SMS templates¶
Frequently used messages can be saved as templates:
- Go to Phone → SMS Templates
- Click Add Template
- Enter a name and message body
- Use the template when composing a message in the Inbox
Troubleshooting¶
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Messages not sending | Contact your administrator to verify SMS configuration |
| Inbound messages not arriving | Contact your administrator — the inbound webhook may need reconfiguration |
| "Insufficient credits" error | Top up your SMS balance in Settings → Billing |
| No phone number configured | Ask your administrator to assign a phone number to your store |
