SMS Metrics

Get a detailed view of your SMS sending performance over time.

Go to Phone → Metrics to access the SMS metrics dashboard.


Time range filter

Select the period to analyze using the filter at the top:

Option Shows data for
Last 7 days Previous 7 days
Last 30 days Previous 30 days (default)
Last 90 days Previous 90 days

Each metric also shows a comparison to the equivalent prior period (e.g. last 30 days vs. the 30 days before that), with a green/red indicator for improvement or decline.


Key metrics

Messages Sent

Total number of SMS messages successfully submitted during the period.

Delivery Rate

Percentage of sent messages confirmed as delivered to the recipient's handset.

Delivery Rate = Delivered / Sent × 100

A healthy delivery rate is typically above 95%. Lower rates may indicate invalid numbers or carrier filtering.

Failed Messages

Messages that could not be delivered. Common reasons: - Invalid or unreachable phone number - Carrier rejection - Insufficient credits at send time

Inbound Messages

Total replies received from customers during the period.

Reply Rate

Percentage of sent messages that received a reply.

Reply Rate = Inbound replies / Sent × 100

Charts

The metrics page includes:

  • Daily volume chart — bars showing sent vs. failed per day
  • Delivery status breakdown — pie chart of delivered / failed / pending
  • Top area codes — most common destination area codes

SMS Log

For a per-message breakdown, go to Phone → SMS Log. This shows every individual message with:

Column Description
Date When the message was sent or received
From Sender number
To Recipient number
Message Full message text
Status delivered, sent, failed, received
Segments Number of segments consumed
Source Whether sent via campaign, inbox, or API

Use the search and date filters to find specific messages.


Exporting

Click Export on the SMS Log page to download the current view as a CSV file.
